smooth PAL

Post by zoobie »

This is my first attempt at making a PAL DVD. I was able to get smooth PAL mpgs with ProCoder but when I inserted them into MF4 with the box checked "don't re-encode compliant mpgs", it may have goofed the framerate anyway. It's now slightly jerky.
Did I miss a setting?
Thx

This ap seems to think my compliant PAL 25fps mpgs are 29.97fps and dropping frames.

I'm also starting to see posts in other forums where converting NTSC to PAL has not been successful as far as smooth video is concerned.
Is this a lost cause?

yep...been there...done that
tried using 29.97fps and 25fps compliant mpgs
29.97 set to PAL throws an error
25fps set to PAL makes slightly choppy video which I'm seeing as about the best result one can get
was hoping for smooth PAL video
looking around for something else to test

yes...I read that one when following a post you made about the same problem
did you ever get smooth video?
MF4 is messing the framerate of my smooth PAL mpgs
I'll let it re-encode them and see if it's smooth for fun.
Maybe this was fixed in MF5

thx

I've done lots of ntsc to pal and pal to ntsc conversions with Procoder and never had any problem with workshop 2 and my dvds.
