capturing video VS8

i am having problems capturing video from from my digital video camera into my pc.I have XP home edtion service pack 2 , I have a 2.4mega processor intel pentium 4 with 512 ram, I have two hard drives c drive is fat32 system and F drive which ntfs. c drive has 55 gig free and ntfs has 72 gig free. I have set the project properties as per the instructions on the user to user web board I can get about 8 mins using the mpeg and about 1 min usin avi files then the pc crashes ? any help in this matter would be great I also had this problem with VS8 Se so I upgraded and was hoping the full upgrade would solve the problem, i am sending the video to f drive as well thanking you

Does UVS crash, or stop capturing? It may stop capturing if the transcode buffer fills up, but it should resume capturing when it has caught up. Since you are capturing from a digital camcorder, it should stop the tape for you, and resume playing as well.

If UVS crashes, it may be related to a memory leak that existed in UVS 8.0 -- you can download the V8.01 patch from the here.

Thoff I downloaded the V8.01 patch but does not seem to make any difference VS8 program does not respond after I get a error report program not responding

i have directed the video to go my F drive which is NTFS.
I got about 7mins of video before VS* stopped responding any help would be great thank you alan cain
