I have the boxed version. That box definitely is not VideoStudio 10. It does say Pinnacle.

Yes, but if you read the description it is an Inter Video product, which is Ulead. They may have just put the wrong picture up, but like MD said, he actually went to the store and didn't see VideoStudio.joosuna wrote:Maddrummer 3301...The link you provided for us, is for a a product called Pinnacle Studio Plus 10... It has a similar name to Ulead video Studio 10 Plus...easy to confuse.

I've seen this same product on CompUSA's web site if you just enter "videostudio" as the search string. I doubt that it's the same as the product we're discussing here, but then again I've seen other Ulead products (such as PhotoImpact) packaged under a different vendor's name and in a different box. Again, I was confused, but I think I'll drop by CompUSA and see what it is that they're selling.

While we here in Australia do not benefit from the often quite amazing software deals and rebates you guys in the US enjoy, I would have to add the comment in this case that it would seem strange to me that any store would be selling VS10 at rebate prices so soon after its release. On the other hand, Pinnacle Studio 10 has been on the market for quite some time (and gets bad press!). So I would not at all be surprised if it was soon to be replaced/updated, and thus is now being sold at a discount. Mind you, I say all this in an equal state of confusion as everyone else as to why all the references, apart from the photo, point to it really being VS10+...

I agree with MD, the Rebate Forms do have Ulead all over them. The weird part is that it lists Competitive Products as Pinnacle Studio, Adobe Premiere Elements, Roxio Video Wave, and Sony Vegas Movie Studio. Then the Qualifying Products are Ulead VideoStudio Versions 5-9.

So I think there's a snafu somewhere...

Shows a picture of Pinnacle Studio 10 Plus but the
information all points towards the item being offered to
be Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus.
These are completely different products.
I am one of the Ulead User forum Moderators and this
advert is causing some confusion amongst our
membership.
Could you please clarify if the item on offer is the one
from Pinnacle or the one from Ulead.
Thank you in anticipation.
Well, I went to a local CompUSA store. And according to the SKU#339973, the product is in fact Ulead Videostudio 10 Plus
The confusing part is the picture they have in the ad -- it is a picture of a Pinnacle product with a similar name - Studio Plus version 10.5 (but it does not have the same SKU# as the ad).
I asked a salesperson, and he said the rebates are for the Ulead product, not the Pinnacle product (he was going by the SKU#).
I actually saw the Ulead retail box for VideoStudio 10 Plus with the SKU# listed in the ad. The box itself had a $30.00 rebate sticker on it. And Ulead is also offering a competitive rebate of $20.
The retail box was smaller than past issues -- similar to the smaller MovieFactory 5.0 box, and I also saw a small PictureShow box from Intervideo/Ulead.
$50 for VS10 Plus is a great deal (imho). Considering all the features it gives you -- the sum of the parts is greater than the whole...
-video editor with more overlay tracks
-automusic generator
-dvd authoring (SD and HD)
-5.1 Dolby Digital
-HDV Editing (with Proxy)
-and even a version of WinDVD for DVD Playback
Regards,
George
