How to enable/use Ad Zapper?

Post by vegascoug »

NEVERMIND: Figured it out...FINALLY!

You have to click on Multi-Trim Video first, and then you have access to the Ad-Zapper features. Which I might ad is a freaking SWEET tool now that I found it, so far it has removed every commercial seamlessly!

I have read the manual, checked reviews and articles online, searched the forum, and searched all over the Internet and I cannot for the life of me find the Ad Zapper icon, nor do I see a setting for it anywhere.

Using the trial of VideoStudio 10 Plus and I have tried importing video already captured, splitting that by scenes, and I have also tried to capture new video in case that was where this feature came into play.

It does a decent job at seperating the scenes and the commercials are easy to find, however I am leaving Studio 10.5 because of bugs and I came to Ulead because of this feature specifically. 99% of what I burn is things off my DVR, and I remove the commercials in everything.

Please don't reply "read the FAQs" or figure it out yourself. As mama used to say, if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.

I am just looking for a legitimate answer as to where in the heck to find the feature and test it out.

Thanks

Out of interest have you checked to make sure that it has ONLY removed the commercials and nothing else.

There are no hidden signals in a TV broadcast that say "adverts begin"...."Adverts end" and so it seems to me to be a glorified scene detect based upon changes in the picture. Surely it would also detect a change from one advert to another?

Not knocking it, just curious.

I checked and it did remove quite a bit of the commercials, but I haven't checked to see if it moved anything else. The project I tried it on was several hours, so I didn't watch it all the way through.

The way I see it is sort of like a spell check. It helps you find the misspelled words (obvious commercials) but it's not perfect and it won't proof-read it for you. However, it will probably save me time and remove a bunch of them.

I'll keep playing with it, I was just happy to find it. Nowhere does it say to click on that other link.
