Has it ever run?
If no..... follow this link
If yes... whats changed on your computer since you last ran it?
New software/hardware. - Removed any? Had any power cuts?

I did initially but suddenly I started getting an application error. I re-installed the program to no avail. I performed a "chkdsk \r" and again to no avail. Here is the application error I am receiving: The instruction at "0x7c80d189" referenced memory at "0x7da2c2c1". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.sjj1805 wrote:Has it ever run?

That sort of message usually (though not always) indicates a potential fault in your RAM or else a conflict with another program. In the first case, the program is trying to address a certain address on your RAM stick, but that part of the RAM may be defective and unusable. In the second case, the two programs are addressing the same part of RAM, but the other program got there first. This is one of the reasons we suggest you close as many background processes as possible while editing video.
It would also be worth your while to download a RAM test (Microsoft has one, though sadly I don't have the URL for it) and let it run through its complete set of tests. I recall having this sort of message, and running a RAM test (supplied by the manufacturer of the computer, curiously enough) which had 12 sub-tests. Only one of these returned a 'fail' message, but that was enough to indicate the particular RAM stick was faulty and needed to be replaced. Luckily, in my case, this was still within the warranty period of the computer's hardware.
