Unable to capture video MPEG from DVD into the Ulead program

I have been working for 8 months to create a special funny video for my husband's 30th birthday and I am finally at the editing stage and have been having nothing but major problems!!

My video camera was not recognized by the computer, so I had my video footage transferred from camera to DVD as an MPEG file. Today I went into Ulead to capture the video from the DVD and it isn't working. When I go to caputure from DVD, and try to select the DVD drive it won't open.

Can anyone help me? I'm desperate! :(
