Pop up Title Animation - duration defaults

Post by middlebury madness »

I am having difficulty getting my titles to scroll using the pop up animation with no pause. In VS9 I didn't have a problem but there seems to be a delay fixed in VS10 and then only half of the information gets displayed no matter how long the duration is. It appears if the pause duration is being controlled somehow. I reset it in the animation box to no pause or I drag the pause duration handles and it keeps going back. I tried deleteing the title completely and starting from scratch. but it seems to default back. What am I missing?

If you are wanting your text to continue to scroll, like end credits, then use the Fly effect, the first preset. You can also customize the pause / duration for it.

Thank you that worked like a dream. I still can't figure out why the pause duration handles are in the middle of the title clip when I used the pop up annimation and the title is delayed. does it have something to do with single or multi titles or the pop up setting to title or line?

The adjustment to the pause / duration depends on the animation. For example the Pop-up, where the title scrolls onto the screen, from off screen, there is no exit animation associated with it. Thus the Right Pause /Duration handle can not be moved, just the left one, which controls the animation of the title coming onto the screen.

If you would move the handles to the center then the animation appearing and exiting would be slow, and the pause time short. However if you move the handles to the far right and left, the animation will be fast, and the pause long. The Pause time is the time the text is static or stationary.

To really understand how these work, experiment with all of them, using each of the presets, and especially using the User Defined, and move the handles to various positions to see what they do..

I will try playing when I get this project off the plate. I don't know weither I've messed up something or will it reset to the defalt settings when I go to use it in another project. Is it that I know what I want it to do and don't work well with presets? Would I be better off setting my sights on MS Pro 8? Or will I just find myself in totally over my head?

Any customizations you do, are reset when starting a new project.

I don't know, it could very well be. VS or MSP for that matter has presets, that allow you start at some point then customize it to how you want it.
Would I be better off setting my sights on MS Pro 8? Or will I just find myself in totally over my head?
Only you would know the answer to that question. You might get along great with it. The only suggestion I can make is to try it and see..
