Are you saying that in CapWiz, you cannot find where to adjust/change the captured bitratesupres wrote:Everything I capture with capwiz is very jerky and pixilated, im assuming its because it captures at variable 8000 (i dont know about you but i cant seem to change it on capwiz). If i use vs9 i can change the bitrate to cbr 4000 and it comes out perfectly smooth.

I'm using capWiz 3.6 (for an older USB Mpeg device from ADS Tech). So maybe they changed it?supres wrote:No i cannot find the bitrate option on capwiz, ANYWHERE heh, if you know where i can change it by all means let me know....
my cpu basics are intel pentium 4 3.2ghz/1 gb ram ill post more later im on the run, thanks!!
If I hit the button on the top for VIDEO FORMAT, I can then select from 3 radio buttons (DVD Good, Better, Best). And also hit the Custom Settings radio button to select my own bitrate from a menu of choices). Is your CapWiz different?

George
Version 3.8 is more or less the same except the bit rate choices are only 4
Personally I always have the best results letting the hardware do its thing
from the manual: The chipset inside the DVD Xpress DX2 is always analyzing the incoming video and making adjustments to optimize the video quality and maintain the lowest bit rate possible. This is why there are only general video quality options instead of specific video bit rate settings.

I have capwiz 3.8, i can change the quality as posted above to 4 different types, but that does not change the bitrate from variable 8000.....i just did a test on all of them and the bitrate didnt change 8-(. Its still jerky on capwiz but its not jerky when i capture on vs9 on constant bitrate 4000. its totally smooth. also, i believe capwiz is frame based, im recording directly from my tv, isnt it better to have it lower first?
Thanks for all the help guys
