So far, I've had zero success with MF3. Using my standalone DVR, I made a 1 hour high quality DVD from a VHS tape. The media was +RW.
I started up MF3 and chose Create Video Disc. I left it as DVD for Output Disc Format and chose DVD for Add Media. I put the +RW disc in my pc's dvd drive and told MF3 to load it. It did. I clicked Finish and it started loading. I came back about an hour later and saw this:
Capture failed. Perhaps the disc is damaged, or it has copy-right protection.
Capture failed. The captured file is corrupt and unusable.
I have tried this several times with 2 different +RW discs. I have at least 17Gig of free space. This is running on WinXP SP2 with 2.4 pentium
Any ideas?

Try this instead. Use DVD Decrypter to "rip" your home recorded DVD.
Use IFO mode and change the settings for creating one large VOB on your hard drive. When you have finished "ripping" it, go to the folder and change the extension from VOB to MPG. Load it into DMF as a regular MPEG file and set chapter points as you wish.
The one thing you didn't mention is the audio format of your DVD+RW. If it is AC3, I hope you have the Disk Creator version of DMF3 as the standard can't handle AC3 audio.

Here's a little procedure for using DVD Decrypter I had written based upon my Philips DVD recorder.
