On Select Device Control in VS8

Post by Banji Abereoje »

Hi guys

Pls what is the relevance of the ff setting (esp. the figures) in VS8 while connecting my camcoder

Tools>select device control>

In Device control box: (Current device: if I select MS 1394 device control).
Then, in Options (MS Device Control Options box), we have:
Active Device - SONY
Pre-roll time - 300 ms
Transmit pause time - 2500 ms
Record pause time - 2500 ms
Delay record time - 300 ms

Thanks.

It's just giving you the event delay times in milliseconds for the specified functions?

Thanks Terry for ur reply but is there any specific no. to set, or this is the default setting. And what difference does this settings make in capturing?

Video Studio is simply displaying relevant settings. In other words, the delay time between you telling VS to do something and the time it will actually take to execute that command. Just make sure that your video/audio capture settings are correct and then start the capture process.
