I find it hard to believe that Ulead would still be downloading a corrupt version of this file -- and you will recall from the above that, for experimental purposes, I have been one of the now apparently many people who actually downloaded what appears to be a corrupt content file.

So I begin to wonder if in fact there is a link to the other thread relating to a different problem with VS9 which has just resurfaced today. See here:
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 4568#44568

In other words, I am wondering whether installing an older version of the Microsoft Installer file version 2.0 as an alternative to the current MSO version 3.1, might resolve this VS10 content issue. Unfortunately, I have not had the time to experiment in this regard myself, partly because, apart from some missing transitions, my version of VS10+ seems to have all its content and is otherwise working just fine...

Ken,

Thanks for your suggestion. I uninstalled windows installer version 3.1 and installed version 2.0. Still same error. The file is corrupted. With the current changes in Ulead, I guess nobody cares to fix the problem.

The file seems to certainly be corrupt. I opened it with WinZip and WinRAR. Both gave an error message when they tried to extract the data2.cab file.

I have not heard from Ulead support a long time. I think They ignored, I guess so. I wish Ulead support are excellent. Each morning, I downloaded content link but still run slowly. I know they need to put more server. Maybe they can't afford to buy more server. I guess so.

The content pack is OK here. I wonder if any Download Manager would help....

Before you download, clear up the browser cache to see if it helps.

Where is the file you're referring to? I'm using GetRight and have successfully downloaded the file multiple times. But it's always corrupt. Here's the location:

Sorry, HT, but this is not just one person with the problem. There are a whole heap of them, myself included, who have a corrupt file. I don't need it as I only downloaded to see what the problem was about, and it downloaded corrupt. All these other people in the thread -- and who knows how many others -- are having the same problem... And some have downloaded multiple times.

Same as Ken, I don't need it BUT...
In view of the above postings I just downloaded it again just to see if it had been repaired since the last time I tried.
Alas the File is still corrupted. It downloads but here is the error message if you try to extract it to a folder with winzip

Code: Select all

Extracting file: C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Desktop\uvs10_contentpack_(e).exe
Extracting to "C:\Temp\content\"
Use Path: yes Overlay Files: no
Extracting /data1.cab
Extracting /data1.hdr
Extracting /data2.cab
CAB file uvs10_contentpack_(e).exe is corrupt
Alternatively just run the exe file (as you should) then you get an error message

Code: Select all

The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. the executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again.
This is exactly the same as occured when I downloaded it the first time some two weeks ago.

I then opened the exe file with winzip and extracted each file one at a time. All files except the first two in the list data1.cab and data1.hdr produced error messages.

This is worse than doing business in third world contries. Ignoring customer's e-mails is not the the best practice for a company. I appreciate it if the moderators can kindly pass the message of users frustration to someone in Ulead.
