Better saturation filters?

I used VS's saturation filter to tweak the color saturation. but when i boost the colors, it appears to be very noisy. (color grains appears on white objects.) I tried to do the same thing in Avi free DV, and it gives smooth saturation adjustment (white objects remain white with no grains coming out.)

I wonder if there are add on saturation filters available. Thanks!

That's one of the reasons I like to make those kinds of adjustments at the point of capture, and why I use a dedicated capture software program and not Ulead's capture device. That way, I just use 'effect' based filters within video studio rather than color/hue/saturation correction.
