Stitch together 2 seprate C3d

Post by Wenda »

Ok.. I have 2 c3d that I really want to run as one..

One has a background of one image and a text & image rolls across it.

The other has a different bacground image and while part of the image explodes the other blasts out and new text appears..

It seems I can only have one background image per c3d creation and in setting an object to explode, it will start exploding in frame one thru to the last frame, regardless of anything I try to do to get it to start on a different fram in the timeline.

The only way I could get what I wanted was to split the image, but now the question is can I sticth them together in a way that I can get the first c3d to run, then the second? Or should I be going about this a differnet way..

thanks
Wenda

What's you final format? AVI? Render them and put them together in a video editor.

One way would be thecoalman's method.

Another way is to set the final image to be the background.

Draw a rectangle and set it's texture to be the image of the 1st.
So when you explode the rectangle, the background can be what you want it to be.

If you want the explosion to starting from a different frame (not the 1st), set the mask (red line) and move the start point of the red line to where you want the explosion to start. It works for me.

Cheers and have a nice day

To add a few more tips if you have VS8 or MSP you can import the project file right into either onto the timeline. I've never done it but you can. To add even further you can export as a TGA sequence with a transparent background and import into MSP as an overlay which I have done and works quite well.
