Stitching a photo

Post by Dingo2 »

I have been asked to repair an old photo that was printed on a thick board. The Board is very fibrous and the photo has been torn into 4 pieces, but the tears are very wide with wide expanses of bare card extending out from under the actual photo. If you can understand what I mean.

Does anyone know where I might find a tutorial that will help me stitch the photo back together. I have never used the Stitch function before.

I have repaired torn and damaged photos before, but they have been more or less clean type tears.

In hope...

You might use the Lasso or Magic Wand Tool to capture each torn piece and turn them into a floating selection. Once positioned, you could move them in place. That accomplished you could use the Clone Tool to fill in small gaps.

You could find more information on each of these tools in the Help section by pressing F1.

Hi Keenart,

Thank you for that, I will have a go. I have not had time to explore PI 11 too much yet.
