USB input device
To check the setup of VideoStudio for
USB interface:
1. Connect your video source device
to your USB port using a standard
USB cable and switch it on.
2. Your Capture plug-in will
automatically be detected.
3. Click Capture Step and check if
your device is displayed in the
Options Panel under Source.
I did all of this, I dont have a capture plug-in, I have a digital video camera. Not sure if they are the same thing but it keep showing up that there is no capturing device or any kind of device connected. I have the USB connected to the front of my Dell, does that have to do with it? I also am using Uleaded VideoStudio 7.0. What do I do? Please help.
I need help with Capturing/videocamera to computer detection

All digital video cameras sold in Australia come with a USB cable which is usually only suitable for transfer of still images or low quality streaming video for web use.
In order to use your footage in the production of your own DVD/VCD/SVCD it is recommended to use a firewire (IEEE 1394) capture device and relevant cable. This cable is usually not supplied with the camcorder but can be bought at computer shops. The same goes for the required PCI add on card for your PC, in case it does not already have a firewire port. The cable, usually 4 pin to 6 pin, on my laptop the firewire IN port is actually 4 pin as well, is plugged into the "iLink" port on your camcorder.
If you are running XP, the camcorder is going to be recognised by the OS as soon as you plug it in. No extra drivers are required.
