Stopping connection to camcorder.recommendations for setting

I didn´t find this problem in manual or search.
I´m running VS 10 in a trial version, Xp prof with Sp2

I try to transfer data from my camcorder, using the assistent, while
prescanning the band, after ca. 20 sec, the connections was dropped,
the camcorder disappeared from my computer.

The same with Movie maker and Pinnacle studio:
In computermangement /event system:#
error ID 7023:
Service "computerbrowser was stopped with following error:
The process was given back because of time out.

Then I set the services: computerbrowser and server from automatic to
manual.
Now I can transfer data with Movie maker,
With VS 10 sometimes it works, sometimes not.

1. Are there recommendations for VS 10 in XP prof which services should
run in automatic/manual ??

2. Since the firewire connection in Xp is treated like a NIC, are there recommendations for the network settings?
I disabled firewall service and enabled all three options (file and printer sharing,tcp..)
