multi-trim to chapters?

I came here to ask for help with Movie Factory 3 SE, and I see there is a patch. So I download and install it, and it renders my software unusable.

Not good. Hopefully deinstalling and reinstalling it will help.

But my question was this: After using multi-trim to create a number of clips from a video capture, how does one then use those clips to create chapters ?

When I go to add/edit chapters I do not see all the clips I created in multi-trim. In fact the only way I see them is to click on the multi-trim option again, and there they are.

Am I missing something ? I'm a 30+ year veteran computer user, so if the interface is not obvious to me something must be wrong.

So, what is the purpose of multi-trim?

To remove unwanted bits such as adverts if recording from a TV program.
