Yes I get loads of them (5+ per day) all originating from this and the old ulead web forums - I know because I use one e-mail address specific to Ulead forums only. From my other internet activities I get maybe one or two a year. Just make sure you have a good active firewall and anti-virus software - and never open any attachments unless you are 110% sure were they came from

dont use outlook as a rule of thumb get an internet based account. if it turns up in hotmail it is deleted automatically.
ps on the old webord i kept on getting hacked even with a firewall. so bad my laptop has been wiped twice.
I am considering not writting any further to preserve my PC! But this is what the virus writers want people to do!

Well, I think there are some words of wisdom in these replies. First of all a firewall no matter how good will not protect against viruses. That requires a good anti virus program. But, I have found that a good software firewall like zonealarm IS great for blocking unwanted probes into the computer OR stopping spyware from calling home From the computer OR thwarting Denial of Service Hijaakings.
My recommendation is to:
1. get rid of internet explorer.
2. get rid of outlook or outlook express
3. Substitute for these apps the following:
a. firefox ver1.0
b. thunderbird ver1.0
4. go to Tools | Folder Options | View and do the following:
a. Check the following:
"display the full path in the address bar"
"display the full path in the title bar"
"show hidden files and folders"
b. And for SURE:
UNCHECK "hide file extensions for known file types"
And As briancee says: "Don't open any attachment where you are unsure of it's origin.
That should keep you sound and secure for awhile.

i think i must have picked up a trojan when i was hacked and it did a little nasty on me when it delivered its payload. this was with a firewall and antivirus uptodate from norton. although one of my techie guys at work didnt recomend Norton Firewall as it has been shown that things can get throguh that shouldnt.
he recommended ZoneAlarm aswell. Also it is free!

I have Norton (updated weekly), Zone Alarm Pro, as well as I am hiding behind a Network Address Translator (ie, a private network connected to the ADSL modem). With this setup, I have never been successfully attacked.
I occasionally get an email with an attachment; viewing the attachment (I use Outlook) shows that it is a Norton Antivirus Deleted.txt. In other words, Norton quietly strips the virus off on the way in. Cool!
