Good day, all.
I searched on 'no audio', 'no sound', but didn't seem to see my exact issue. Any help would be appreciated.
SUBJECT: I have captured analog video/audio from a camcorder using a Hauppauge WinTV PVR-USB2 and the DVD Movie Factory 4SE that came with the hardware. Capture to .mpg was very smooth and the resulting .mpg file plays fine in Real Player, WMPlayer, etc. with both video and audio.
When attempting to use the DVDMF4SE to convert and create a standard DVD (using vobs), on the first preview screen (selecting the "Add video files" menu item) there is audio. However, after selecting the small menu preview (when setting up to create the DVD), hitting 'next' takes you to a movie player preview screen. Pressing the play button at this screeen has no audio. This occurs in the final DVD as well. The video is great, but no audio using either a PC or a stand alone DVD player.
I have looked for a separate 'audio' import menu item and found none. Perhaps I am missing something? I was watching the software as it prepared to burn the DVD and it did have a step that said 'transcoding audio/video' or something close to that, so I am not sure what I am missing.
I apologize if I have missed something very basic.
Properties of your source files?: 2.6GB .mpg file. Created using analog video camera output, Hauppauge WinTV USB-PVR2, and DVDMF4SE.
What devices are involved and their mode of connection?: Hauppauge WinTV PVR-USB2 connected to on-board USB2.0 port on Asus P4C800E Deluxe
Project Settings:
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: 6000 kbps
LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Dual channel
I have tried both selecting and de-selecting "Treat MPEG Audio as non-DVD compliant" with the same result: no audio in pre-burn preview or DVD.
Output format: DVD
PAL or NTSC: NTSC
Error Codes (if any): None
System information: In profile.

I actually did burn a DVD, two in fact (using different settings) both had no audio.
I have subsequently used a copy of Sonic DVD that I had laying around. Using the same source file I had no problem creating a DVD that did have audio included. Not sure why the Sonic works and the Ulead product did not. The Sonic was quite a bit slower to transcode, however, and did not have some of the options that the Ulead product does.
