Application Error Photoimpact 10

Post by zsuzsa »

I had installed and used Photoimpact 10 in this computer more than a year now. Yestarday I had to use ctrl+alt+del because it froze. Since than whenever I try to open it and the main window is loading I got this message:

"Application Error Faulting application iedit.exe, version 10.0.0.0, faulting module xulparser.dll, version 10.0.0.0, fault address 0x0005c518.
"

I run Registry mechanic, PC Speed registry correction, Uninstalled reinstalled, and still got the message I cant open PhotoImpact. What happened? Can anyone tell me?

Try to find in you user profile file named Current.xum. Rename it. Now try to start PI.

Hi,

To find the file Current.xum go to your Search in Windows (Start>Search), then search your current profile (C:/Documents and Settings/Your User Name) for that file. It should show up under Ulead Systems/Photo Impact Folder..

Then when you find it, right-click it, and choose Rename. Rename it to something like Current.old. Then restart PI...

Thaks Ron
After deleting everything I couldn't find any Current.xum file. I disabled my Norton Internet Security and installed PI 10 again. It worked! I was so happy! Not for so long.. when I closed it and unabled Norton open PI 10 again it froze. Shut down computer and started PH10 with Norton disabled. It works. In the browse window I fund a foldet Ulead.dat and I deleted it. I am not sure this was the one I had to delete or not but after that everything is worked so far with Norton running also. I cross my fingers.
I do not understand something : I also run registry mechanic and found after the PH10 instalation 50 something error including lots of font errors.

I wrote this here maybe one of you could make something out of this. I can't.
Thanks again, hope it will work.
