Interlace found in Rendered DVD - Intel Issues

Post by d75c »

Hi people. I think DVD Moviefactory3SE has Intel processor issues. I have a P4 1.7 and a 3.2HT . When I render videos on the 3.2G box, I get lots of interlace on my renders, while I don't get any at all on the 1.7G box. I thought the patch would solve it but to no avail.

I even tried accessing the advanced menu options for encoding. Switched field orders, enabled/disabled deinterlacing, etc. Nothing works. So i'm forced to render video on the 1.7G box.

Does ULead have a solution for this? Anybody there with an HT processor with similar problems?

Interlaced video should never be deinterlaced if your intents are for it to be viewed on a TV. The only reason to deinterlace is if it's for computer playback only, even then you might get better results playing it in software that compensates for the interlacing such as PowerDVD. If your judging the results by viewing it on a computer burn it to disc and try it on a TV.

Make sure your using the correct fields and maintain them, generally:

DV Source (including analog sources passed through a DV converter) = Lower Field or Field Order A
Analog Source= Upper Field or Field Order B

Thanks for the info on fields. I have some knowledge on the topic. What i'm just bitching about is why my other 3.2G machine displays fields the wrong way and my other box renders it right.. I just played around with the settings to see if they have any effect. Apparently none.

I'll try overwriting my current installation with the files from the other box. Lets see if that works.

I really don't think the processor would have anything to do with it... It's just doing whatever the app tells it. I've never heard of such a thing, I'm not saying it's impossible but that would be a new one on me and I've been around the block a few times.

Note that I said generally for the fields, you might want to read that entire thread About fields I linked to. Particularly the second post by Vhelp.

Did you make sure your capture configuration was correct?

Of course if your transferring from DV the capture properties are moot.
