HD Capture with Media Studio Pro 8 : Question

Hi folks,

i hope someone can help me with my question...

I have the new HC3 cam from sony and Media Studio Pro 8. Now have captures a 60 minute tape in hd quality.

I have saved it as a video file with no changes ! Result :
mpg-file almost 11GB with 1440x1080 resolution

That worked great. When i watch the file know on my 16:9 plasma screen with media payer 10 it gives me black stripes on to and bottom and no full size image !!!

I figured out , that it is mpeg-2 ?! So i downloaded a codec and the black stripes were gone and i finally had full size image...

But now the picture quality sucks !!!!!!!

So heres the question : Any idea or suggestion how to get rid of the black stripes and keepup the good quality ? Do i needa special codec or player ?? Please help...
