Partition of external HD

Hi all

I intend to use an external HD between two laptops for backup should the HD be partitioned?

That rather depends on the size of the external hard drive and your intended workflow.

It's a bit like asking a Football Manager is a
4:4:2 better than a 4:3:3

On reflection and a bit more reading, partitioning does seem a good idea as the drive is 250gb and it will help to keep things in "order" between the two computers.
