PI 11 No EXF Data?

Post by Hummingbird »

I just upgraded to Photo Impact 11 and can't find where you read the EXF data from, is it moved or just not there anymore? Also the EXF data is lost after editing an image then saving as JPG, is there some way to make sure it saves, and keeps this data.

Hi Hummingbird,

In PI-11 go to File>Image Properties (ALT + ENTER) then Click on File Info, the EXIF is the 3rd Tab (Camera Information EXIF)..

I also noticed that the EXIF gets lost, which I think is pretty lame on Ulead's part. IrfanView a freebie program and PSP, at least allows saving the EXIF data..

Like your blogspot :) My wife is into the birds. We have about 3 Hummingbird feeders, a couple of Oriole and several Finch. Last year we had 3 couples of Hummingbirds visit regularly, this year they showed up in early spring for a couple of days and left. We do have more Gold Finches then we know what to do with though.

Thanks Vidoman,
I don't get the third tab on image properties, I can see the camera info in the browse section though, I like the way they made that customizable as far as what it shows.

A shame it no longer saves the info after editing the image. I hope they will re-add that, would be nice to have the option each time you save an image to either maintain or erase that info, as sometimes it's needed and other times it's better not to have it there.

I still have PI 8 installed so will use it when needing to keep the data. Interesting thing about 8 was it only kept the EXIF data when editing from JPG, but wouldn't with a TIFF. I upgraded because I pre-ordered the new Sony Alpha, and wanted the RAW support.

Glad you like the blog! I wouldn't doubt it if your dissapearing hummingbirds are nesting someplace close by, when mine started to build her nest my feeders went empty, she succesfully chased off all the other hummers from the feeder in front, and the male chased all the other male hummers away from the feeder in the back.
