Multi-Trim and Enhanced Video for MF4
Can't you do both? I just finshed adding text and (god I'm pissed off) and now I can't select multi-trimming. What makes this worse is I did it already and they appear gone in my clips.

Why?
Why is it that you seem to have to know the secret software handshake to get things done? I have problems with audio sync, video trimming, etc that all seem to have to have a special sequence in order to make things happen. Why isn't editing more intuitive? Are there too many geeks programming the thing? Is it only video geeks that are using the software? Why isn't there a more intuitive program that works well?

Hi Kenferg1,
Take for example playing a musical instrument. In order to play it with any degree of proficiency you would have to aquire some knowledge first on the instrument. For playing a guitar, you need to to know that picking or strumming the strings while holding down some strings causes the strings to resonate or vibrate which makes the tones ie, musical notes. You would need to know what part to strum and what part to hold down. So with video editing a little knowledge of video formats, workflow, etc is not unreasonable to ask.
Problems that arise such as the audio/video sync, are not only attributed to the software, but can be triggered by hardware not being adequate, by workflow, or just bad video clips. As far as your issues with trimming video, without information on what sort of problems, along with video properties, project settings, workflow, it is impossible to provide answers or resolutions to those.
Your last questions referring to geeks programming and using, I feel that yes there better be some geeks programming it. Maybe because of the recurring bugs in some of Ulead's Apps there's not enough.
One of the reasons this board exists, is so there is help in learning video editing and more specific, Ulead's programs. The forums have users that have knowledge with the programs, with the "bugs", and how to overcome or avoid them. Recommendations on how to use the programs in a way to avoid all the headaches and bugs are provided.
Ulead does provide manuals with their apps, however they do tend to be vague, and could be more detailed in how to use their products. At this time I will refer to the manual for DVDMF4 DC, which does address Multi-Trim and Exporting, starting on page 35. It even states in a notation :
)
There maybe a more intuitive program, however it seems that Ulead's programs are geared more toward consumers. The user interface is one of the easiest to navigate and learn. I will add though that there is plenty of room for improvement, such as the "gear icon". I still can not associate a gear with what functions it performs, such as exporting or setting properties. However the "tool-tips" do provide some information as to what each icon is responsible for doing.
The reason for my long-winded post is, well I'm long winded ok?
No really just to try to explain that video editing does involve more then just clicking a few buttons. It may seem that it should be as easy as editing images, however there are alot more things that go on under the hood. So having a basic understanding helps out your total experience.
Finally just post any problems you experience, and someone will try to do everything possible to resolve it with you.

"Secret Handshake"? Well while it doesn't take that, video editing does require, like several other skills and tasks, a little knowledge.kenferg1 wrote:Why is it that you seem to have to know the secret software handshake to get things done?

Video editing is as intuitive as you want it to be, just start researching and reading. There is an abundance of resources available. Again I elude to my above statement. You must learn at least some fundamentals about video editing if you want to be successful at it. I think once you learn some basics you will find that video editing is addictive and fun.Why isn't editing more intuitive?

So even with a vague manual the problem that the OP has, was pointed out in the manual. (I know who in their right mind reads manuals.DVDMF4 DC Manual page 37 wrote: Note: If the video is previously edited by Enhance Video, you must
first right-click the video and select Reset Enhanced Video before
you can multi-trim the clip.
