Mpeg4 video clips

Post by toad »

I am so new at this stuff.

My son sent some video clips that are Mpeg 4, they play fine in VS9 and VS10 trial version.

When I put them in the time line to run together as a project with or without transitions nothing happens the time line bar moves but the video and sound do not play.

Am I not doing something wrong?

Any suggestions :?:

I have had no success trying to edit Mpeg4, Divx, Xvid or any of the highly compressed video formats in Video Studio. If your son converted these videos from a camcorder fomat such as DV, ask him to convert to Mpeg2, instead, and burn them on a DVD, which he can snail-mail to you.

The early versions of the DivX 6 codec had code in them that intentionally prevented its use in all but a few video editors -- Videostudio was one of the ones that was simply not able to "see" the DivX codec when it enumerated the available codecs.

Try downloading the latest version of DivX Free.

Want to thank you for the information.

I have Media Studio Pro version 7 on my computer but haven't used it much would it be able to handle Mpeg 4 :?:

{My son shot the video using a Kodak Easy Share camera and sent me the memory card. }

Thanks again
