From New Project to Creating a Video File

Post by malone63 »

Hi All,

I have looked in the forum but need clarification to the process I am using below.

After Capturing the video to my hd, I normally split it nor problems and sometimes cut unwanted pieces out.

I then create a new project add, whatever mpg files to the tiimeline, and add some text, transitions .no problem.

The prob is when i add audio.
I have added mp3s with no issues, but in some instances i have converted them to wav or mpa from with ulead.
does averyone do/done this?
What method do you use?

SoME errors after adding audio and "burning" to hd to create vob files (which i later burn to dvd using nero) , I find that an offending mp3 after playing appears to "stall" the video. I generally check with Cyberlink DVD.

I have also created an audio file from the project, then create a new project , add the new audio file , including vdos + text and I get all audio sounds "repeated" after rendering , but the audio is fine.

it appears that the audio file i created includes sound from the video + my mp3 or wav files.
So after rendering i get the video+the sound , and also my audio file (including sound from the video when i created the file).

Should i be turning off the sound of the video when i create my audio file?

I know the above may be disjointed, I hope you understand what i am saying but maybe if you experts can post your procedure that'd be fine.

thanks for your time !

Mal

Not everyone does this. Some do have problems with using MP3 audio, some do not. To convert the audio you can use a third party audio editor, Audacity seems to be a favorite.

Yes you should. When you create an audio file, VS will produce an audio file of all the Active audio in the project. So if your audio is not muted in your video clips then VS will use that too to create an audio file..

thanks for your prompt reply.

i dloaded audacity and converted mp3 to wav and have created a working dvd from the project I was having some issues with.

my next , hopefully i will start creating chapters. I t appears that VS9 is only rather basic? And the menus don't allow for more chapters?

So if i wanted to take that step further, what would be good for creating chapters, DVD WS?

And how about creating or altering menus? PI11?

cheers
