Using VS 8. Computer has pretty big hips with 2 serial drives. 112GB w/71GB free and 75GB w/ 61 free. XP Pro P4 Processor and 1G of memory. Movie previews fine but when I add an overlay(any overlay) the program dumps during prewiew when the overlay is shown. The windows error codes are:
Exception Information
Code: 0xc0000005
Flags: 0x00000000
Record: 0x0000000000000000
Address: 0x0000000077c46fa3.
Not that sure that this will help. Are Ulead fault codes in the application?

Hi James, and welcome to the forums..
Nice to see you have your system specs completed in your profile
1. How did you capture/transfer your video into computer? Firewire, DVD, download from the internet?
2. Can you list your Capture, Project and Video Properties? (MPEG-1 or 2, MPEG-4, DV-AVI, WMV, MOV.)
3. Have you applied all the applicable patches and fixes? http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp80.htm.
4. Where do you have the Working Folder set? To the default, or a folder setup on your second harddrive or seperate partition)
5. Are there any background applications running while you are editing? It is best to disable all background apps while attempting to edit video. Steve (sjj1805) has produced a great tutorial on setting up a Video Editing Hardware Profile. You can view it here: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=13950

RE: VS 8 Crash when adding overlay
Hey Ron,
No video, just JPEG images (I tried other formats, same deal)
All patches are installed.
Working file has been in the default location and on another drive.
Nothing running (not even anti-virus)
Thanks for your reply.
Jim
PS: ##### here it used to work (not this project)

RE: RE: RE:
You guys are right. All I needed was a little kick in the pants. 10 works fine. More stable and has a few new features that are kinda neat. Thanks to you all for your help. I will keep an eye the forum and maybe I can return the favor.
Regards, Jim
