CPRM dvd discs

Post by girly »

I have just rendered a home movie onto one of these discs and the picture is garbled, sound is ok. Is this something to do with CPRM because I've never heard of it before and wouldn't have bought the discs otherwise.

Thanks

CPRM would (should?) only prevent copying, not playback. Either something went wrong in the authoring, or the firmware in the drive that your are playing the disk back on is buggy and not handling CPRM correctly. Whatever it is, it isn't the fault of the media itself.

I have played this DVD on my stand alone player and it is fine. It just won't play on my PC DVD player.

Thanks

Girly,

Could the reason be that you recorded a DVD using VCD format, as you stated in this post?

No this was a different problem. Thanks. I've sorted the other topic now as I posted a reply.
