Problem with size available on dvd

I want to put avi files onto a dvd with an interactive menu, but i can only put a small amount of these files onto the dvd. The files are Tv shows which are about 350mb. I can only fit 2 of these files onto the project, but I have seen from others that it is possible to put 4/5 ontop the project. Does anybody know how to add more of these files onto the project?

Choose a different template, with file sizes for AVI like that there probably in a highly compressed format, when your converting them your going up. Try the lowest quality DVD template available.

How do I change the settings so that this is possible. Sorry, I've only had this programme for a few days.
