Does Canopus ADVC100 work with Movie Factory?

Post by ruggy1 »

I have tried the Canopus ADVC55, which does not work with MF according to Mr Chien, does anyone know if the next model up, the ADVC100 works with MF? I have a chance to buy one rather cheaply but do not want to waste my $$.
Many Thanks
MF2, MF3, MF4, MF5, VS7, VS10+, VS12, Nero Vision Express. Ricoh and Sony 16x DVD recorder, Sony HC5 High def camera. Also Canopus ADVC110 for AV/DV input through firewire

I'm not sure why the ADVC55 isn't working for you -- it should, and so should the ADVC100. They are analog-to-dv converters, and you should be able to capture the converted dv video via firewire to your computer as dv .avi videos.

Here's a post with at least one person using the ADVC55

Yes, the newer model Canopus ADVC-110 does work well with MF4 (recognised as MSDV) and MF5 (recognised as DV). The quality is marginally better than my Canon DV camera AV/DV passthrough when capturing VHS tape to AVI.
