I did all my home made DVDs using VS8 until now. I used to include the DVD video player (from the "options" of the burn menu), because I give some discs to my relatives who are not much familiar with playing a dvd on a PC. That way they could just insert the disc and it would auto play the DVD menu screen. Easy for them, easy for me.
As I've been using VS9 for a while, I just discovered there's no such option here. There's an option to include a personal folder, but not the DVD player. Am I missing something? This was an extremely useful function for me.
Include software player onto the DVD using VS9

Well, just in case someone wants their dvd to autoplay on a computer that may not have a decent dvd player installed here's a solution.
UV9 does not include dvd player program to be burned along with your video even though it states so. What you do is burn the dvd without closing the disc. Then using Nero or similar software add any player you want - I used the player from VS8 which is fine, easy to use and autoplays the discs anywhere. Don't forget to finalize the disc after adding the player.

... and that that was the reason it was not included in VS9 or 10. I agree with you, though, that it is sad that they no longer offer the option. But your work-around is viable, perhaps using the InterVideo player now included -- if it is not too large and does not reduce the space available for your video on the disc too much...
