No Sound

Post by Retired Russ »

I have an mpeg2 file which plays fine in Windows Media Player 10. When I load and preview it in VideoStudio 9, it lacks sound. WMP10 says the audio codec is "ffdshow Audio Decoder". If the lack of this in VideoStudio is the problem, is there a way to load this codec into VideoStudio? I can't find the means to get any new codecs into VidioStudio. VideoStudio shows only four codecs installed: AAC, DivX, M-PEG-2, and M-PEG-4. Some grayed out buttons (Activate, Register) seem to indicate additions are possible, but how?

Hi Russ,

According to what I found on FFDShow, it is an MPEG-4 decoder used for DivX, Xvid etc..

Do you have the MPEG-4 plug-in installed?
