DVD 3.5 gives error not enough videospace???

Post by Guru »

I'm a noob at using DVD Ulead Moviefactory 3.5, I only have it for one month.
Now I'm extracting to MPG files of totally 2,5 gb on disc and it gives after 2 hours the error, not enough videospace

How is this possible? is something wrong with the mpg?
I checked my rewriteable DVD and made it completly empty...

Can anybody help me out?

Thank you for completing your system specifications.

Where did the video file(s) originate and how did they get into your computer. What type(s) of files are they eg
MPEG / DV / DivX / Xvid etc.
Bit rate settings, screen dimensions, audio format.

Then what happened next - did you edit the video in any way and create a new edited file (Again bit rate settings etc etc).

This is as per my previous request

Thanks for your reply!
Got them by download, just normal MPGs.
I don't see any bitrate or that kind of stuff if do right mousebutton the file.
How to find the bitrate etc.?

Guru,

Are you right-clicking on the MPEG files in Windows Explorer or in DMF? You will not get all the info in Windows Explorer. With the video file inside DMF, right-click and choose Properties.

No, didn't change anything, maybe one of those MPGS is corrupt?
Maybe you can see that, with the specs I posted above?

3 out of 4 of your MPEG files are MPEG1 which is a much smaller file size and designed to be used with VCD / SVCD disc where you can squeeze up to ahours worth of video onto a standed 700MB CD disc using a standard CD Burner.

This was the format in existance prior to the arrival of the DVD Discs and the MPEG2 format.

The MPEG2 format creates a much larger file size per hours worth of video
and I suspect that your output is to MPEG2 format whereby those 3 MPEG1 files are now being converted and so growing accordingly.

As one of the other moderators puts it
Smaller file size = smaller quality = longer video.
Larger file size = larger quality = shorter video.

I see!!
Thanks for that clear answer.

Why doens't Ulead see this..?
As the same as I add a AVI file then you see how much the file grows,
before starting to create a DVD disc.
