Hi Tanya,

Ulead Tech-Support recommends a clean install to correct this error. Scroll through the following thread and you'll find the procedure. It's a bit of a pain but definitely worth a try. Please post back with your results.

New help with old problem

Post by mrsa1113 »

Help! I just purchased Pictureshow 4 a couple of weeks ago and worked fine until today when I started getting this same mesage about an unnamed file. It happens when I am editing the audio & effects. I found the instructions to do the clean reinstall and was going to try that, but when I went into my control panel to remove/uninstall pictureshow, it's not there! How do I uninstall it if I can't find it in the add/remove programs part of the control panel?

Hi Kathy,

If the program doesn't appear in add/remove programs (mine is listed as "Ulead CD & DVD PictureShow 4") try reinstalling it (overwriting your existing installation) and then reboot your computer. This should restore the uninstall option. You should then be able to run the uninstaller from add/remove programs and proceed with the clean install procedure.

I have recently encountered exactly the same problem. I have followed the very precise uninstallation procedure to the letter and then reinstalled. I have the same problem. As soon as I install a file into the Movie Wizard (I want to add text and titling etc) I can get the file into the timeline but as soon as I click Next to get to the next level and the effects, the program stalls and then comes up with "An attempt was made to access an unnamed file past its end" and Ulead jams up and I have to use the Task Manager to close it down. It has rendered my program unusable... not happy! :( It all worked fine before. Now I can't do much with it at all. Has anyone any other solutions before I bin it?!! :x

Sounds like a corrupted source video file.
