Post by Sereia »

I would like toknow how to use GIF's in the projects! Everytme I try to use an aminated gif it won't work, there will only be a normal (steady) image, what ca i do about it?
Also, about flash animation, how do these work, and where can i find more? I know if I google it I will have lots of sites, but they are all of flash animations software and that's not what i want.
Just one more question, is it possible to use images without background? If so, how?
Thank you so much!

Hi Sereia,

How many images are being used in your animated GIFs? or How many frames are they? In video there are numerous frames for every second of video. I don't believe that VS will read the animation in a GIF, other then it is a still image.

Flash animations can be OOP (Object Oriented Programming), where objects are animated through time. An object is moved from place to place during a specific duration. They can also be scripted, where code is used in place of actual objects. Yes you can find an overwhelming amount of Flash stuff on the web. What might be useful is the text, intros, and banners. It takes browsing to find a website that may offer some animations for sale. I don't know of any off hand, as most that I know deal mainly with graphic and web design. If you are really interested in Flash animations, maybe trying your hand at creating your own. As you found, there are several Flash authoring programs available. My favorite is SWiSHMax.

Yes you can use images without backgrounds. These are referred to as transparent backgrounds. The format however should be TGA, PNG or GIF. The most compatible with VS is TGA or PNG. If your image has the ability to save with a transparent background then VS should be able to see the "alpha" channel and use it. The alpha channel is the transparency or how Opaque the object is.

Hope that helps..
