The .VSP file is just a file that VS uses to save how the project was put together i.e. what video clips, still images, sound files etc etc go together to create your output. So it is not a "playable" file by anything.

You need to go to the Share tab of VS and create an output file before you can view the results of your editting. If you select Share then click on Create Video File you will be offered a dropdown of file formats for your output file. Several are for Windows Media File format (wmv). This will lead you through a series of steps and the results should be a file of .wmv extension which Windows Media Player can process.

Hi Mark, and welcome to the forum..:)

Well the only program that will open a VSP file is VideoStudio. A VSP file is a VideoStudio Project File. It just stores the instructions for your project, such as the clips used and where they are located on your system, cuts made, transitions, filters, and effects added. There are no video clips in a VSP file.

So to view a video file, you need to create it first. The type of file depends on what you are wanting to view it with, a stand-alone DVD player, (set top player), DVD player on your computer, Windows Media Player only...etc..

So to create a video file, you need to go to the Share step and select the Create Video. From here you can render a video file, the format as stated before, depends on your final goal. Depending on where you live, you would choose an NTSC or PAL type of DVD or MPEG file.
