In my video i want to make points where i can fast jump to when editing the video.
I have read that this is possible making named chaper points in the timeline of the video.
When i do this it works. But i always thought that chapter points was for a menu where one can make a menu outof the chapter points. But after create disc the chapter points i have created or of no use in create disc. Or am i doiing (again) something wrong.
It isn't nessecary that the chapter points appear in the create disc because i only want them for fast goiing to a point in the video.

Hi
No you are not doing anything wrong.
The chapter points within the timeline are new to VS 10.
After adding the chapter points in the timeline, if you Share Create Disc your chapters will be preserved in the create menu/chapter stage.
This would then involve rendering the video project in the burner stage.
If you Share Create Video File then all chapter points will be lost.
The idea of using these points as markers in the timeline is just an added bonus.

I haven't had chance to check this out yet but the manual appears to suggest that an MPEG file can in fact contain chapter points:
VS10 Manual wrote: If you want to use Auto Add Chapters, your video must be at least one minute
long or the video has scene change information.
• If you click Auto Add Chapters and your video is a DV-formatted AVI file captured
from a DV camcorder, Ulead VideoStudio can automatically detect scene changes
and add chapters accordingly.
• If the selected video is an MPEG-2 file with scene change information, Ulead
VideoStudio automatically generates these chapters for you when you click Auto
Add Chapters.
