I have been trying to update the patches that are available for the MovieFactory v.4. I have tried to save the .exe file and run it from my computer, and I have tried to just run it after clicking the link (without saving it).
Each time it works its way through the InstallShield but then says that it is "unable to find MovieFactory 4 installed on this machine." Well, I know MF4 is installed on the computer.
Any ideas?

Do you have DMF4 installed to the root drive "C" or another? There have been problems with patches finding it, when it is installed on another drive.
Is your version the full version or an SE version? Some patches will not recognize the free SE versions.
Also when I install, I disable my antivirus, firewall etc, just as a precaution to prevent them from possbily interfering with the install..
