Quality Problems with Videos in Completed DVD

One last question...

If I am just importing .JPG files, do the project settings matter?

I am a bit confused at the difference between the project settings and the settings which I select when I "build" the video. Why do I select these settings twice?

Thanks,

Tomasina

If you want your MPEG files not to re-encode in WS2, you MUST set your project settings in MSP8 correctly.

In the Settings dialogue Edit, your first thing is to click the Compression tab and select PAL or NTSC DVD, as appropriate: this is a must. Do NOT choose MPEG-2 under the Compression tab - that's for other things. You can then select your other settings as you will.

When you have finished, you can Create your mpg file, imperatively using exactly identical settings.

Having done that, you can import the new mpg file into WS2. If you make sure that neither the video nor audio is set to re-create a new template, then WS2 will not re-encode. If it does, it's because something in your mpg file is non-compliant.
