recode again?

Hi, i was doing a encode in tmgenc, with 720x480 ntsc, etc...when i put mpeg file in dvd workshop, and send to burn he start recode again the same file, i dont understand since my project is NTSC, why this happen?

Which version of WS do you have?
Most have a do not re-encode compliant files box to tick.

In which case tick the box.

From memory it's in the edit section and under the video tab, might be "Don't" tick the covert to disc template box?

You have to ensure the mpegs that tmpg has made are dvd compliant.

thanks from the tip, tell me something...my video it is from vhs capture, 640x480, but dvd workshop do not acept that? i must convert to 720x480? always?

This will be why you are re-ecoding then probably, as the file has to be a dvd compliant file and that means 720x480 for NTSC.

well first i encode in tmpgenc for dvd 720x480, and after i import to dvd workshop, and dvdws want recode again , even in the right dvd template...i still work here, but thank you very much!!!

Sorry, forgot that step.
What settings did you use in TMPGenc, and have you ensured there is no tick in the convert to template box?

graham, i am midlle of conversion now, it is 41% in tmpgenc, yes i use dvd tamplate ntsc in that program...and i will test just like you said after enconde this avi finish, tell you later...what happen! lol...

Let me know what settings you've used if it doesn't work.

Also, can you get an NTSC dv-avi out of TMPGenc?

If so, it may be best to make that and import it into workshop.
