Can I trade mine in on this newer offer? :) That's what it cost me(upgrade price) to purchase MSP8, using a Ulead coupon, no SC Template Pack, no MPEG-4 Plug-In...

I would think those that have been holding out, would grab onto this offer..:)

Thanks Tobie..

Yeah thanks Tobie, (that's a sarcastic thanks) do you know what the upgrade cost me in Rands?

Good deal, and with the service pack now available I would highly recommend to those who haven't done so, because of price or worries over stability. that you do so now.

Greg

When I first got MSP (version 6) it came bundled with an ADS firewire card. The guy who sold it said he did a lot of business with people in SA who would buy the bundle just to get MSP cheaper because it's so expensive over there. Mostimes they didn't need the firewire...

Was that the bundle that came with the ADS Firewire Card, VideoStudio 4 or 5 AND MSP 6.0VE :?:

That is the package I bought (for $79) back in 2000, and have been using Ulead software ever since (I still use that same firewire card in one of my machines) :)

The trouble I found with the bundles were that updates were not always available for the VE editions, e.g. my MSP 7 VE DVD edition only worked with SP 7.1 and not 7.2 or 7.3. Having said that it did qualify me for the upgrade price on v8.
DVD Workshop 2.232 upgrade
MediaStudio Pro 7 (CG Infinity + Video Paint)
MediaStudio Pro 8 ESD+SP1 (8.10.0039.0)

I actually migrated to MSP through a version of Video Studio (4, I think), which was bundled with an ADS Pyro that I bought, this allowed me to upgrade to MSP 6. Going that route, while not exactly cheaper, was cost effective, as I then also had the benefit of the Pyro.

Yep - although it cost me a lot more - £140 (which was about $210 back then. Nearer to $280 now).

I still have the videostudio CD lying around, somewhere, unopened. Probably good for an upgrade deal (but not likely - I now have three MSP licences!)

So we're out of luck if we got excited, bought MSP 8 too early, and showed customer loyalty too quickly? If not, how do we get the plug-ins?

Excellent question, however I fear the answer is the same...buy, buy, buy...

That's nice...maybe if MSP 9 comes out, I'll wait a little longer, you never know, maybe a better product will come along in the mean time!!

Or, if you wait long enough, you may get MSP 8 with a PC magazin as a freebe

Seriously though guys, these things happen to those who wait  I remember my disgust when MSP 7 was all of a sudden cheaper as a full version than what I paid for the upgrade 2 years earlier  Even though MSP 8 is now better priced than what it was before, I'm still not having it, yet  MSP 7.3 works like a charm and does all I want to do. Why fix something that ain't broken :)
