Still Menu audio length strange behavior??

Post by stormy1777 »

I have 4 still menus with background music, I set to expire in 30 seconds, and advance to next menu.

in the finish/preview it works OK.. however when i burn to folders..

the audio expands to 255 seconds (under CvtMenu each .wav file is about 46MB!!) and audio plays for 30 seconds, then rest of time it is silent, when the 255 seconds finish it goes to the next menu..

i tried trimming the audio to exactly 30 seconds, also tried .ac3 and .mp3 formats, still no matter what converted files turn to be very long .wav files.. much longer than 30 seconds.

finally figured out the issue, had to DISABLE background music, then set the still menu to 30 seconds, now reenable background music.. and the still menu turns grey but still shows 30.. now it works as expected.. repeat for each menu and you'r done..

now the total output will fit in the dvd...

add another bug to the WS list..

I wonder if tools like DVDit (sonic) or DVDlabpro (http://www.mediachance.com/download.htm) will be a good replacement.. I love DVDWS, if it weren;t for these very timeconsuming problems.. i mean, u can solve almost anything, but just takes days!!

As can be seen by the huge voting turnout!.

Reminds me of the post a while back asking for a replacement for MSP. If you come to a Ulead forum, you are very likely to find it populated by people who use and like Ulead products, and are unlikely to hear them recommending other products. I mentioned this in the other thread, if you went to the Porsche club and asked what was the best sports car, how many people would answer Ferrari?

Want to do some good? you should have added WS3 as an option in your poll, you would have got a lot of votes. Go to the We want WS 3 thread, put your 2 cents worth there and maybe we will get it.

Greg

no need to be offensive, we're all in the same boat, trying to fix the world and make it better.. trust me, I much rather having WS3, and reviewing that thread.. boy.. doesn't look very promising.. at any rate, I don't expect too many people to vote in a 5 hour window in the middle of the night :-)

I don't even care if people vote, even just offering other options is good enough.. I periodically give other products a test drive, but go back to WS2.. *despite* all the problems.. and there are a lot.. unfortunately..

cheers, and don't take it too harsh..

Apologies, no offense was intended, and I agree, the thread makes a lot of noise, which doesn't seem to be heard by Ulead. That in itself is a bit odd, there are a large number of dedicated Ulead fans on this board, all asking for a new version, and (I think) many of them holding back on purchasing something else (more modern), in the hope that a product that they like and know will get a facelift.

Again apologies for any offense caused.

I own also a dlp license. But this tool is very complicated (too much for daily work - but this is my personal opinion) and also not able to solve every problem. Maybe I would give it a vote if the announced version 2.0 is available. On the other hand a dws3 would also need much improvements and added features (and a not too high upgrade pice) if I should buy it.
