DVD Engine Error 93006:1:0

Post by Bandit »

I've been successfully burning DVDs for several years now with very, very few problems. Today I get a DVD Engine Error 93006:1:0 twice. Both times this occurred after the disc is ejected and the progress bar shows 100% completion. I'm using the same settings, same DVDs, same everything. I have completed multiple burns today. Using this software and computer system I have burned literally hundreds of DVDs.I'm using MediaStudio 7 Pro and MovieFactory II LE. Again, this is the same software, same computer, same old same old. MovieFactory is definitly taking longer to load and longer to complete the steps for menus, adding video etc. Anyone had this specific problem ? Bandit

Hi Bandit,

Since this has worked numerous times before, the first place to look is towards What has changed on your system recently? It's not necessarily specifically with your editing and authoring programs. Other changes may suddenly create problems with these. A windows update may suddenly cause conflicts, or adding other DVD authoring programs, such as trial versions.

System slow downs, can be credited to fragmented hard drives, spyware and even viruses. Have you recently defragged your system? You might also try cleaning out your Temp folder(s). A worst case scenario would be the possibility of failing hard drives. Have you noticed any other strange or unexpected actions, such as hangs or freezes (not just with DMF or MSP), unexplained reboots, or applications crashing?

Are you running anything in the background, internet, antivirus, spyware? These certainly will interfere with video editing and DVD authoring.

As I stated above, this has to be related to a change, since it worked fine for your hundreds of times before now...

Hi Ron,
Thanks for answering so fast. As for changes, this is my personal computer and no one has access to it. No internet hook up, so that eliminates virus, or updates. No software additions, trial or otherwise. No hardware additions. No floppy disc used. I do not make any changes to the computer system. I defrag before editing, and if it is a large project I will close the editor and defrag befor restarting. This particular project is the same project that I have succesfully completed yesterday. No reboots (unless I reboot) and no chrashes. System runs slower than normal though. Is there a magic place that has codes listed so I can see what 93006:1:0 means ? Any other ideas. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi MD,

I'll give the restore a try. Since my last post I have successfully burnt two DVDs with no problems. System is definitly running much slower than normal. There should not be any virsuses on this system as there is no internet connection, no floppy disc used, no trial software and no new hardware/software added since 2004. I'm the only person that has access to this machine. Video capture via VHS and blank DVD disc are the only things put into this machine. I have 300 gb of storage on four drives and they are fairly well full and the two disc I burnt earlier where to archive data and drop as many gbs off the hardrives. A point I may not have mentioned in my other post - this particular project that keeps failing contains 98 chapters and 4.1 gb total size - I have never used more than 15 chapters before - maybe this is the problem causing the error. Anyway, I will do a system restore and post the results. Thanks for replying, it is really appreciated. John (Bandit)

Problem solved. As suggested I tried system restore and still had the error message. I inserted the installation disc and did a repair. I'm back to burning DVDs. Thanks to MD and Ron for your input.
