VS9 crashes when project loaded

Hi,
I'm using VS9 on a P4 with XP Pro Sp2

1. I've loaded a project into VS9 for editing, playback etc but sometimes shortly after it has loaded and sometimes after it has rendered, VS9 crashes. Each clip on the storyboard is avi DV Type 1 with its sound NTSC DV, 12 bit , 32000 etc. The project duration is about 10 minutes.

Has anyone any idea what might cause this?


2. Frequently when a project has just been loaded in VS9, rendered and starts to play without VS9 crashing, there is no sound. Other times there is sound.

I'm baffled and would welcome any ideas as to why this happens and how to prevent it.

3. My projects preferences are all DV Type 1, as are the clips in them, but when I save a project as an avi file, VS9 defaults to DV type 2 in the resulting avi.

Can I change this VS9 default to DV type 1 for the resulting avi file?
