Why is my final burn onto DVD have little jerks every couple of seconds ?
I play the VHS 60 min tape & capture the footage in Video Studio 9 at 6000 mpeg2. No probs with the audio. I hope someone can give me some advise. Thanks Paul

You need to tell us how you captured the video onto your hard drive.
The various settings used - bit rates, format etc.
What did you do next - any editing?

How did you get the video into your computer.
Would it be by way of a firewire - IEEE1394 cable or some other means.
When you burn the DVD what speed setting did you select.
I have a 16x writer and use 8x discs but soon discovered that writing at speeds fast than 4x would produce an unreliable DVD.
If burned at speeds higher than 4x the same disc would play in some standalone DVD players, play with errors on some standalone DVD players and refuse to be recognised at all by some other standalone DVD players.
After capturing by whatever means, have you edited the video in any way.
If so did you then create a DVD compliant MPEG2 file before proceeding to the authoring stage.
The jittering could be caused by one of several things so we need as much information from you regarding these points as possible.
Most problems can be avoided by following the recommended procedure

Hi,
I played the VHS tape on a NEC Video Player, I connected the audio & video (AV) cables to the out jacks at back of player and the other end into the AV jacks in computer capture card.
I burnt DVD at ? but I need to get back on the speed. I did notice that my 16 x DVD Burner in the properties said fastest in the speed selection.
After I capture I'm not doing any editting & I go into the SHARE Tab and do a VIDEO FILE. When done I shut down UVS9 and reopen. open share & import video file. then through to BURNING at the same project settings..
Thanks Paul

I think the burn speed is the most likely problem.paulwho wrote:Hi,

Try burning to a Hard Drive folder first and then play it with a Software DVD Player such as
Ulead DVD Player 2.0 that comes with DMF4
WinDVD 7 which comes with DMF5
InterVideo® WinDVD® Player which comes with VS10
PowerDVD
Nero Showtime
If all appears OK then try burning at 4x.
