Error when capturing video

I am having program errors with VideoStudio 9.0
This is what happens.
1. Open VideoStudio 9.0
2. Click on VideoStudio Editor
3. Capture
4. Capture Video.
After I click on Capture video is when my PC generates this error.
" VStudio.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart program. An error log is beingcreated". I have uninstalled and reinstalled program many time. Video studio 7.0 SE does not have this problem. Any help?

What this seems to be is a problem with the Windows Installer.

Just before this error occurs, please explain what device(s) you have connected to the computer and your method of connection.

We know you are trying to capture something but is that from a camcorder, TV card or what. Are you connecting with an IEEE1394 cable or by some other means.

What is the windows installer?
I am trying to capture video from panasonic video recorder.
I saw where people are replacing the windows installer, will this help me?

Problem fixed....uninstalled Windows installer 3.1.
