Post by Bignosetw »

It should be under "Video Filters" ...

Click on Video Filters in the Production Library, then click on "ALL". That brings up an alphabetical list. Should be #4- says Anti Shake. At least on my version that's the way it works

No anti-shake filter for me either after the SP1 upgrade. Help About reports 8.10 etc but Video Filter / All does not show Antishake...

Ideas?

Karl,

I don't show the anit-shake in the Production Library/Video Filter menu BUT it does show, for me, if you:
1. Put the video on the timeline
2. Select the video (left button)
3. Right button then select video filters; it's the 5th one down.

Give this a try and let us know if it works. I think this is a bug as it should show under the Production Library/Video Filter menu.

Thanks
Dennis

Funny this :( I have it, in its right position, alphabetically in the All gallery but, in the Camera Lens gallery, it appears at the bottom, on both my systems.

Thank you, Dennis! Yes, it shows up in the right-mouse video-filter menu as you say.

Oddly, guys, it does not show up in any of the video filter lists, sorted by name or description... and if I look in the program folder, it does not show up in the video filter folder either... Wonder what that's all about.

First start of MSP8 to test your ideas popped up a reminder that SP1 was available... which seems like the 'new' update reminder feature isn't very smart if it doesn't even check to see what version I'm running. Or, maybe my update behaved as if it succeeded, but didn't really even though the About screen shows 8.10...

Thanks again,
Karl

I did more looking around and this is what I found on my system:

1. Anti-Shake is the only filter, out of 82 standard filters, that doesn't show up in the Production Library versus the timeline. Even filters that I have added (Timecode, Anti-Flicker) show up in both places.

2. DeShake.vft is in my MSP 8.0 vft_plug directory with a date of 4/11/2006 and a size of 36KB.

It seems that since DeShake.vft was added as part of SP1, that not all pieces of the filter directories were also updated.

Thanks

Hello,
I've got the same problem as you.
- Dennis, could you confirm you have 82 standard filters ? In my vft_plug folder, there are 80 files : 79 .fvt files (including deshake) + gfill.upl file.
- only deshake file does not appear in Production Library Video filters: only 78 items.
- for information, I've upgraded to 8.100039 from 8.000033 without downloading any beta version of SP1.
- What is the rule of gfill.upl ? it is dated 06/09/2005. If it is the program whitch updates the filters directory, it should be have changed and have the date of SP1.

Hi Gigi,

I made a mistake and overstated the number of standard filters by 2.

I have 82 .vft objects in the vft_plug directory which includes 2 non-standard (timecode, anti-flicker). In addition I have gfill.upl.

So I have 80 standard filters in the vft_plug directory BUT only 79 show up in the Production Libary/Video Filters menu (no Anti-Shake).

I upgraded from 8.0 (orig release) to SP1 Beta then SP1 Official.

I looked at gfill.upl and I don't think it's a directory of filters; seems to have some color information.

I have an excel spreadsheet with an inventory of video filters that are in the various locations, so if you would like a copy just send me your email in a private message under my profile and I will send you a copy.

Sorry for the confusion and hope this helps.

Thanks
Dennis

Hi Dennis,
Sorry, I've made a mistake too with the numbers.
There are 80 vft files in the folder and 79 in Production Library (deshake missing) = I am exactly in the same position like you.
(possibility to use deshake by right clicking .... as explained in previous) messages.
