Adding Symbols In VS10

Is there a way (what is the best way) to add symbols (ie. directional lines, etc.) onto a video? I've used Photoshop to develop the symbols and overlay them, but is there a better/faster way. I use VS10 for industrial videos and occasionally need to show product flow direction along with text.

Under Decoration you will find objects. They appear to be PNG files so could make your own if the ones provided as samples are not enough. Flash may also be a viable alternative for you.

You can use objects as overlays in VS and resize,reposition,re-
orientate and distort arrows etc from the limited library
