Hi Joey54,
Welcome to the forum. I personally don't have MSP but I am answering your post because you have managed to bury it in the "Tutorials" section of the forum. As such it is unlikely that you will get a response!
Why not try posting in the MediaStudio Pro forum instead? Might just work you know!

How exactly did you download MediaStudioPro 7VE? You can either download a TBYB (trial version), an upgrade to an existing, qualifying, product or a full version. In the latter two cases you would get a full version.
VE versions, AFAIK, are bundled versions that come with hardware or a computer magazine. In both cases, you would actually have a CD to install, not a download.

Joey54,
If I understand your problem, you are using the Video Capture element of MSP and most of the items in the "Setup" menu are greyed out. Here is an excerpt from the indispensible book "Getting Results With MediaStudio Pro",
DV Capture
DV is about as easy as it gets. Because of the strict specifications of the DV format (fixed frame size, color depth, and data rate) you don't really have any say in the matter. This is a good thing. For this reason, Video Format, Audio Format, Color Calibration and other setup menu items are unavailable.
Well, I shouldn't say you don't have any say in the matter. You do get to pick the DV type. If all the other video formats weren't confusing enough, you now also have two subtypes within DV. Without going into the ugly details, DV Type-1 is the exact same format that your camera uses. All DV Type-2 does is change the way it internally stores the video and audio data.
If you are doing analog capture, you have many more options available. So, as you can see from the above excerpt, if you are capturing in DV format, you get DV format. After capturing, I believe you can use the "save as" item on the menu to change the format. The help file in MSP is not that helpful and I think that the book, "Getting Results With MediaStudioPro" is a MUST HAVE for anyone using this program. It is excellent and has helped me on numerous occasions. I hope this helps.

I can heartily recommend Charlie Hills' book. It is not a "heavy" read and is very informal when needed. The website is http://www.getting-results.com/
I checked for MSP 7 and noted there is no longer a download page but a link to Amazon. If you wanted the real physical book that should be OK, but if you wanted a PDF electronic book I guess you could send Charlie an e-mail via his website and see what he can come up with.
